1. Who we are

RootN Engineering Consulting Inc. ("RootN", "we", "us", or "our") is a corporate automation and intelligence firm based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. This Privacy Policy applies to rootn.ca and any information you provide to us through this website. For the purposes of Canadian privacy law, RootN is the data controller.

2. What we collect

We only collect personal information that you voluntarily provide. Specifically, when you submit the strategy-call intake form on our Contact page, we collect:

• First and last name
• Work email address
• Job title (optional)
• Company name and industry
• Organization size and project timeline
• Your primary challenge or focus area
• Any additional context you choose to share in the free-text field

We do not use cookies, analytics scripts, advertising pixels, or any other passive tracking technology on this website. We do not build profiles of visitors who do not contact us.

3. How we use it

The information you submit is used only to:

• Respond to your inquiry and prepare for the strategy call
• Coordinate scheduling, follow-up, and engagement materials
• Maintain a record of past correspondence for reference
• Comply with applicable legal, tax, and accounting obligations

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not use it to send marketing communications unless you explicitly opt in.

4. Service providers

The contact form on this website is processed by Netlify, our hosting and form-handling provider. When you submit the form, your information is transmitted to and stored on Netlify's infrastructure before being forwarded to RootN. Netlify acts as a data processor on our behalf and is contractually bound to handle your information in line with its own privacy practices. Netlify may store information on servers located outside of Canada, including in the United States.

5. How we protect it

We apply reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use, or modification. All form submissions are transmitted over TLS. Access to stored information is limited to RootN personnel who need it to deliver the services you requested.

6. How long we keep it

We retain personal information only as long as it is needed for the purposes described above, or as required by applicable law. If you do not engage RootN and ask us to delete your information, we will do so within 30 days of your request, except where retention is required by law.

7. Your rights

Under Canadian privacy law, including Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA) and the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA), you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
• Withdraw consent to our continued use of your information
• Request deletion of your information, subject to legal retention requirements
• File a complaint with the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada

8. Children

This website is intended for business users. We do not knowingly collect personal information from individuals under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or in applicable law. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Continued use of this website after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
