The terms that govern your use of this website. Consulting engagements are covered by a separate signed agreement.

1. Acceptance
By using rootn.ca (the “Website”) you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the Website. These terms are an agreement between you and RootN Engineering Consulting Inc. (“RootN”, “we”, “us”).
2. Scope
These terms cover only the Website and its contact form. Consulting, engineering or other professional services are governed by a separate written agreement and statement of work signed by both parties. Nothing on the Website is an offer to provide services or creates a professional relationship.
3. Website content
Content is provided for general information. The field notes describe systems built by RootN’s founder inside an operation, as stated on each page; results depend on each organization’s systems, data, people and conditions and are not a guarantee of future outcomes. Website content is not a substitute for a formal proposal or professional advice.
4. Intellectual property
The Website’s text, graphics, logos, layout and code belong to RootN Engineering Consulting Inc. or its licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may view and print pages for your own reference. You may not copy, republish, distribute, scrape or create derivative works without our written permission. The fonts are used under the SIL Open Font License.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to submit false or misleading information, attempt unauthorized access, introduce harmful code, disrupt the Website, use it to harass or harm anyone, scrape it with automated tools without permission, or use it unlawfully.
6. Third-party links
The Website may link to sites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices.
7. Disclaimer
The Website is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind to the extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, RootN and its directors, officers, employees, contractors and agents are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or opportunities, arising from your use of the Website. Our total liability relating to the Website will not exceed one hundred Canadian dollars (CAD $100).
9. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify RootN against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the Website, or your violation of any law or third-party right.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Alberta sitting in Edmonton.
11. Changes and severability
We may revise these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. If any provision is found unenforceable, it will be limited to the minimum extent necessary and the rest will remain in effect.
